Pakistani first-class cricketer Jan Nisar Khan has been selected in the USA T20 squad for the ICC Americas’ sub-regional qualifier, scheduled to take place in Raleigh, North Carolina next month.
Khan was one of the 30 players who were invited to a selection camp in Houston where the final 15-member team was selected.
The 36-year-old has represented Pakistan at both the Under-15 and Under-19 level.
He was part of the team that played the Under-15 World Cup in 1995 and the Under-19 team that played the World Cup in 1998.
Speaking to the media, Khan expressed his delight at getting selected in the USA national team.
“I am happy to be part of the US squad,” he said.
Khan has scored more than 3,000 runs and taken 74 wickets in 83 matches while playing for Smartchoice Sports Club, which is part of the Houston Cricket League.
He will be playing for the USA team in the upcoming ICC T20 Americas’ qualifier for the T20 World Cup 2020, scheduled to be held in Australia.
