General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for another three years.
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure. The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,” said a notification from the office of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed COAS in November 2016 by then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
