Defending champions Northern have set a 161-run target for Southern Punjab in the first semi-final of the National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Shan Masood led from the front as his side successfully chased the 161-run target in 18.4 overs in the first of the two semi-finals. The left-handed batsman made 78 off 58 deliveries with six boundaries and two sixes to his name.

His opening partner Zeeshan Ashraf chipped in with his 55-run knock which came off four fours and as many maximums.

Earlier, an half-century by opener Ali Imran helped Northern score 160-5 in their 20 overs.
